Our Story
We believe everyone deserves to feel safe, peaceful, and proud of the place they call home.
Ember & Elm was founded by Jocelyn Azor-Gagné, a professional organizer with a background in social services and a passion for helping people create homes that foster peace, dignity, and stability.
Before launching Ember & Elm, Jocelyn spent several years working alongside individuals and families experiencing complex life challenges, including housing instability, mental health concerns, addictions, trauma, and human trafficking. She has also had the privilege of working within the Inuit community, where she gained valuable experience providing culturally respectful, client-centred support and collaborating with individuals, families, and community partners.
These experiences reinforced her belief that a person's home environment plays a significant role in their overall wellbeing, independence, and ability to thrive.
Inspired by this work, Jocelyn founded Ember & Elm on the belief that everyone deserves a safe, functional, and supportive home. Today, she combines practical organizing expertise with a compassionate, trauma-informed approach to help clients reduce overwhelm, create sustainable systems, and restore a sense of calm and dignity within their living spaces.
In addition to serving private clients, Ember & Elm partners with shelters, housing providers, hospitals, community health centres, government agencies, and other community organizations to support individuals navigating major life transitions. While Ember & Elm does not provide counselling or clinical services, its work complements the support offered by healthcare and social service professionals by helping create organized, functional environments that promote housing stability, independence, and everyday wellbeing.
About the Founder:
Jocelyn's vision is to grow Ember & Elm into a trusted community partner across Ontario and, ultimately, Canada—ehelping more individuals and families experience the confidence, stability, and hope that can begin at home.
